Well, its nearly 2015 and for this new years new challenge I've chosen to try my hand at silk ribbon embroidery and this is what I have chosen to start with

Last years challenge was to learn how to use a sewing machine
and through the year I made my first ever Quilt which you can see Here and two tote bags and gathered lots of fabric to stash for future projects :))

ReplyDeleteHi Dear Summer :)))) , sorry could not resist, hahahahaha :))) , a little practice for you in your Chinese , symbolic and written , but just incase you've not quite mastered your traditional Chinese yet , here again in some what basic English ......Hi Dear Summer hope you enjoyed your Christmas , :)))) , I see you survived , Mr Puddie's introduction to one of his Christmas pressies , his '' Meow Meow '' game hahahaha .Is there a cat owner out there that has not bought there furbie companions one as a gift this year , and what a brill buy they are :))))) but to the subject at hand ..Oooohhhhh dearest Summer how you so love to diversify in your craft work , which makes visiting your blog such a joy . Its akin to being a child and walking into a sweetie shop , you never know what may be on display from one visit to the next , but always know its going to be delight to walk through the door :))))) hahahaha ....Silk Ribbon embroidery , ooohhh dear Summer , ten out of ten for shear out and out courage , talk about taking the bull by the horns , and the tiger by the tail , but nothing ventured nothing gained , in for a penny in for a pound ...Dear lady you adopt the right attitude , if none of us did anything because we feared we may fail , or feel that for a while that we stumble in the dark as it were , while we learn new techniques, or skills we would all still be living in caves swathed in furs :)))))) ...Improvise , adapt , and overcome , a saying very familiar to all marines , but applicable , to all life .so well done you dear lady ..and the instructions in Chinese , hahahahaha , well short of tying one arm behind ya back , I think were talking challenge all right :))))) . But ALL this aside , just look at what you get as a finished project , it has to be the lamborghini of needle work , the finished piece will just sing out of the frame to you in a myriad of colours and reflective tones .What a striking piece to start out a new year with , and surely one that will lead you into spring , just imagine all those beautiful colours bathing you in there warmth whilst all the time theres the chill of winter beyond your sewing room window...A truly gorgeous piece in which to loose your self amidst its glorious soul warming colours..and one who's progress will be watched with baited breath ..beautiful project dearest Summer , truly beautiful , remember ..bit by bit , little by little .The longest journey starts with the first step :))))))..Dear Summer , I remain yours respectfully , as I wish you and yours a VERY , VERY Happy New Year in the forth coming year of 2015 .
