Simple but so sweet..

The SO sweet Carnation,
I love this flower and its my birth month flower :)
I made these with white Ribbon and painted them,

No two flowers are the same, the fold of the ribbon making each flower unique in its own right and also painting them makes them different by adding light or dark shades wherever you want making the whole picture unique to the creator.

I love black backgrounds, I think it brings out the colours so much more than white,
I've used black many times in cross stitch and the results were always beautiful.

Stop and smell the Roses

Hi all,
Thank you for all your lovely comments on my previous post :)
happy Tuesday, hope your week has been good so far with lots of stitching or whatever craft you're doing :)

I made this little flower garden, so stop and smell the roses :) lol

I started with white silk ribbon in 4 different sizes to make all the different flowers.

I then "painted" each individual flower and leaf

I hope you all have a happy week crafting
:)

The earth laughs in flowers...

And it SO does...
I really enjoyed making this,
I think there will be many, many more in the future.

Happy Crafting :)

What have I been doing?....

Well, I thought I would take the bull by the horns and Gooooo for it
LOL

I've been itching to have a go at trying my hand at some of the beautiful patterns in my new book

and when they say LITTLE flowers, they REALLY mean LITTLE flowers!!
LOL

This is such tiny and intricate work but SO much fun,

The Whole picture is only 5in by 6in

so it gives you some idea of just how tiny the flowers are!

I've just the Daisy petals to do today and it's finished.

Happy new week :)

Peacock Framed

I Got my peacock back from the framers at the weekend :)
he's done a beautiful job of framing it and I'm so happy I took it straight away rather than leave it sitting in the drawer for a year...like I usually do :)
lol
now...where to hang it..I'm running out of wall space :)

Happy Crafting

A Beginners Guide

Hi fellow crafter's, I hope you're all having fun :)
Thank you for your lovely comments on my previous post, they are always appreciated.

Now that I have finished my first practise project of silk ribbon embroidery I thought it was time to invest in some books :)
You can never have enough books to hand!

This one by Ann Cox is a great place to start for beginners, it's packed with information and Techniques.

The second one I bought is this one and my favourite,
it has all the information you will ever need to master this beautiful craft and the author is self taught!
A true inspiration!

I'm so looking forward to doing this new craft and learning all the skills from these wonderful Artists!

Happy Stitching :)

Peacock Finish-silk ribbon embroidery

Hi all and a warm welcome to even more newcomers :) its lovely to see all the different blogs and interests, hope you all enjoyed blog hopping as much as I did :)

Well, onto the peacock and he's done! it was a very enjoyable if some what frustrating experience, not the silk ribbon embroidery but the fact I ran out of the green silk just at the end for the leaves!!
Ohhhh NO not after all that hard work! so I had to improvise :))
I had a bit of blue silk ribbon left over so I made a smaller blue flower to put over the 4 leaves that would have been unfinished!

apart from running out of ribbon at the end I found it a wonderful experience and will be pursuing this art as one of my many crafts, my list grows longer every year!!
LOL
next on the list to do is take this to my framer for framing and buy some silk ribbons ready for my next Silk Ribbon Adventure :))
Thank you for reading
and
Happy Stitching:)
