Sweet Swingers

Hello all
here is something different from teddies
lol

I found this cute pattern online for these sweet budgies
called sweet swingers.

They were pretty easy to make and I did learn something new :)
and that was the mattress stitch!
I'd never heard of it in knitting before but what a great stitch it is

when it comes to sewing up your seams, this is the stitch to use,
it's invisible and leaves no bulk in your work.

it's made by taking a stitch from each side of your work and going from side to side till you have reached the top ( or bottom) depending on which end you start.
make sure you leave a long tail of yarn when you start, when you get to the top you pull both ends and it closes the seam... Magic :)

I also bought these needles for sewing up seams

they are much better than using a tapestry needle because they have totally blunt and rounded ends so you can't snag your work and the ends are turned upwards so its easy to pick up your stitches :)

I made the swing out of a cheap embroidery hoop just covered in pretty yarn
the birds are stitched on by feet and body so cant fall off, the flowers and leaves are knitted scraps of wool.

Happy crafting

Tinsel wool...

yep..that's right.. have you ever seen anything like it before
lol
it's yarn with tinsel attached,
it's going to make very interesting knitting :)

I picked up this tin box while out shopping,
I love it...love things like this,
the tyres could do with pumping up a bit though
LOL

I'm using it to store my silk ribbons for my embroidery.
Perfect
:)

Snowy and Red

Hello bloggers hope you all are well and happily crafting away :)
Thank you for your lovely comments on my Easter cactus.
it's been beautiful weather here in the UK with lots of sunshine, so I've been enjoying it and on the cooler days I've been in my sewing room making something or another ;)

Here are my latest 2 teddies to join the clan :)
Snowy and Red
Both are knitted in Luxe fur chunky wool

I made Red first

Then snowy,

Red has a little bow on her head and I've marked where the nose will go

Happy Crafting :)

Luxe Fur Teddies

HI everyone
I hope you're having a lovely Easter weekend and not eating too many chock bunnies :)

I bought this wonderful pattern for knitted teddies
they're so cute, you wouldn't even know they're  knitted.

This is the first one I've made, I'm going to make a couple more which I will post when done,
I'm waiting on my wool to turn up but one will be snowy white and the other red :)
I think they will look lovely together.

here is the first one I've knitted

he's all super soft and squishy and so lovely and warm

and here he sits with the other soft toys

when I started knitting him it was a bit like knitting a tarantula
hahaha :)

My Bamboo needles arrived from Hong Kong and didn't take long at all to turn up, about 10 days and the price was great...only £3 or about $4 from Amazon and that includes postage! so who can complain at that for 18 sets of needles!! in all sizes.... well pleased :))

Happy Crafting :)

Thanks for visiting
