Only 8 more little babies to go :)

but what fun this project is, I'm not working on it constantly, I'm taking breaks from it and trying other crafts along the way, here is a Dresden plate I made yesterday, not finished yet as I'm undecided what to do with it but I thought they would make great cushion fronts and beautiful Christmas gifts, so that may be a project soon :)

Also, in the charm pack I used for the plate were these squares... :) a fat quarter is not a body part :)
LOL

love them

Happy weekend and happy crafting :)

  1. Hi dear Summer :))) , spring has finally shown its face dear lady yeahhhhh :))))) and not before time ..although the clear skies bring night frosts which alas will burn my daffodils :(((..such is life .... love this cheeky chap/ess sat on his/her bed of octominal oak leaves , acorn to hand looking as cute as they come , he/she has been well worth the wait :))) , the creatures markings are so crisp ...I just so love that little flick of the tail end such detail ..so lovely , so Chipmunk . The completed blanket is going to look just out of this world Summer , TRULY, TRULY a gift to be treasured , one appreciates you have many irons in the fire now as it were to speak , and as such you are dividing up your precious time between projects , whilst still mastering your new sewing machine ..none the less it will be so lovely to see this blanket in its finalized state ..it will be just absolutely gorgeous :)))). Chipmunk's of cause being very territorial , one theory being they get there name from the ''chip chip '' sound they make when a non-territory Chipmunk enters there patch , a sound they call as they chase off the stranger . The more accurate being is that its a mis-spell or conception of the word ''chitmunk'' from the Odawa word jidmoonh, meaning "red squirrel"; or the Ojibwe word ajidamoo again meaning ''red squirrel''..given that both squirrel and chipmunk both share many similarities comes from the fact that chipmunks and squirrels both belong to the family Sciuridae :))))) .Dear Summer I so look forward to seeing this lovingly created blanket completed I know many a months work still lays ahead of you on this project , but ooohhhh dear lady the completed work of art will be divine , just so divine .I thank you for sharing your creativity with us dear Summer , and remain yours as always with respect Ban :)))

  2. Hi its me again hahaha , hi Summer :))) , forgot to comment on your Dresden plate ...oooohh Summer images of kipper ties came racing to my mind there for a second :))) hahahahaha ..thank heaven your not reviving them :))))) ...I don't know the diamension's of your plate dear Summer , but scatter cushions for the bedroom ,or lounge appeals to me , or as back cushions for the garden furniture.. , one could select variables to co-ordinate , but images of big plumped Dresden's across the bed head board so takes Bans fancy :)).. The Dresden Plate quilt pattern was one of the most popular quilts made during the 1920s and 30s. It was first published in the 20s but not always under the name Dresden Plate. Grandmother's Sunburst, Friendship Ring, Aster, Dahlia and Sunflower are all names that have been given to this stunningly beautiful pattern .The popular name for this quilt, Dresden Plate, reflects the romance of the Victorian Era with its love of elaborate decoration on household items and décor. '' Dresden '', Germany was a center of 19th century romanticism movement in art, one that included the fine decoration of porcelain. The plates were embellished with elaborate design using flowers, fruits and foliage. The beautiful plates would surely have been admired by women of the early 20th century....And yet the earliest surviving American made pieced medallion quilt. which is inscribed, "ANNA TUELS HER BEDQUILT GIVEN TO HER BY HER MOTHER IN THE YEAR AU 23. 1785" bares the Dresden Plate style motif ..so it goes without saying that the '' Dresden '' plate design has appealed to ladies all around the world for many years and for many reasons . my own thought being , it is simply that it is an explosion of glorious colour beautiful colour :)))))) ...as for fat quarters not being body parts...the less said the better dear Summer :)))) hahahaha ...love the Dresden dear summer , its bold , bright , and beautiful ..and as a lover of all things so it gets a big thumbs up from Ban , brill share dear Summer , thank you :)))) , respects as always dear lady , Ban :)))))
